Hi everybody!!
This is the first actual tutorial of 2011, and it will have 3 parts! We'll talk about UVs and Textures, and in the first part we'll see how the unwrapping works with a very simple object

I hope you like this new series of tutorials!! In the next one we'll try to unwrap a little character, so we can see some serious unwrapping techniques :)
PS: I'm aware that since I introduced this subtitles system at the site... it's causing some problems to the emails for the people that has subscribed, and to the people who are following blendtuts from feed readers (like google reader, feed demon...). I hope I can solve this problems soon. For the emails I think I'll have a quick solution, but for the feed readers... well, I don't know :S
Please, if you have problems viewing my posts from feed readers or from emails, follow the links to see the actual post at blendtuts, so you can view it correctly. Sorry for the inconvenience ;)
See you!

Nice work Thank you for this and your time :D
Great work! Very helpful, keep it up. :)
Nice tutorial, but i don't have png option in exporting menu.
Thanks everyone!
@Janusz-kun: It's a recent feature, so maybe you'll need to update your Blender version ;)
Says video is private?
No, it must be an error... it's not private ;) Try it again please ;D
Nice tutorial, but I don't see the point why I should apply a texture that is not rendered. So, how do I get my texture rendered then?
It's usefull for some purposes, like rapidly see how the uvs are working without the need of configuring a material. On the third part of this tutorial I'll show how to apply real textures ;)
Ok, thanks, I'm looking forward to it :)
Thanks for the video! Please if u can make video about using nodes and how they work.
Thanks,
Vyee
How do I get the texture you used in this gut?
I'm sorry Dennis, but I can't upload it. Anyway, I didn't use any specific texture, it's just for explaining, you can use a photo or whatever image you want ;)
Couldn't wait to watch this one. Everyone else goes so fast, but Oliver takes his time to explain everything. I can't say enough how great his tuts are.
Thanks a lot, overkill ;)
